For this writing assignment I chose to take on the challenge of the ‘Monologue of a household tool’ and I decided to go with my microwave. Its only been in my life for around 6 months and it was gifted to me from my grandparents when me and my boyfriend moved into our new flat. It was a rather nice microwave compared to the one I had in halls in my first year of uni so I’ve taken the approach that ‘it’ is rather posh and upper class.
I found this task really fun as I got to be really creative and slightly ridiculous. Most of the monologue is true with some exaggeration so I hope if your reading this you pray for my microwave and yes ‘it’ is still alive.
